Panda Antivirus Pro 2012 Review

Panda Antivirus Pro 2012 ReviewThe Panda Cloud Antivirus program is a cost effective solution to keeping your computer malware and virus free; and because it runs a lot of resources “in the cloud”, it is not the computer resource hog that a lot of other antivirus programs are (like Norton or McAfee).

When the Panda Cloud Antivirus program first came onto the market, it was notable for that very reason. Most of the Panda Cloud antivirus program’s “grunt work” took place in the cloud, instead on running on your local computer.

For those of you that are still wondering exactly what this “cloud” thing is all about, here’s how Panda Cloud Antivirus actually works:

Instead of harnessing the power of your own computer’s processor like other antivirus programs, the Panda Cloud Antivirus programs sends data about potentially damaging malware and malicious files directly to Panda’s servers to determine any potential risk.

The Panda Cloud Antivirus Difference

How does that differ from the more traditional antivirus programs?
Mainly in your updating process. How many times have you wanted to run your antivirus software and had to download the most “recent updates” to the software?

The older versions would then download onto your computer all of the most recent threat definitions and install them into your hard drive in your antivirus program; which would then run the AV scan using these updated definitions.

With the Panda Cloud Antivirus, you no longer have to do this; since all of the malicious file updates are “in the cloud” hosted directly on Panda’s servers.

And since Panda effortlessly sends data back and forth to the cloud checking your machine against the most recent malware threat definitions, your computer does not slow to crawl while running Panda since most of the heavy lifting is not being done on your computer.

Panda Cloud Antivirus – Easy to Install & Use

Installing the Panda Cloud Antivirus is a snap. And once installed, Panda will let you know immediately if your computer is protected by throwing up a big green or red icon on the home page.

And Panda works just like any other antivirus program. You can set it up for a “Quick Scan”; or you can set it to scan individual drives, programs or folders. There is a network connection proxy setting should you desire to use it, and an easy to read threat reporting feature that will display any threats that Panda has detected and protected your computer from.

You can list threats found by last 24 hours, last week, or last month; and a nice feature of Panda Cloud antivirus is the “Recycle Bin”, which you can open to recover any accidentally deleted file that showed as a “false” threat.

Overall, the user interface of the Panda Cloud antivirus program is very easy to access and use; but some of the more detailed options and tweaks may be a little difficult to find (simply read the instructions, and you can discover where to find these).
But the most important question…

Does Panda Cloud Antivirus actually protect you from malware?

Panda Could Antivirus- Actually One of the Better Antivirus Programs Available
We replaced our AVG Antivirus software with the Panda Cloud antivirus software over three months ago; mainly because of the reviews we read online about Panda.

And to date, we couldn’t be any happier. It has functioned just as well (if not better) than our old AVG software. And we are not continually downloading these massive files that contain the virus updates like we were with AVG.

Because it is less resource intensive, our machine hums right along; even while Panda is running in the background.
And independent tests by PC Magazine and AV-test.org showed that Panda is exceptional at catching viruses and malware. In tests by both companies, Panda achieved an average 99.4% overall detection rate; and that’s good enough for us.

While Panda does still have a few bugs here and there; and the cloud has not been perfected yet, this antivirus software does everything you ask of it.
Out of all the antivirus software programs we have tested to date, the Panda Cloud antivirus program is the one we run on our computers every day. That alone should tell you something…
